About this archive

A documented memory that grows by its sources

This archive is a historical documentation project gathering what has been documented of the life of Father Wissa Sobhy Ibrahim Tadros and of the history of the Diocese of Deir Mawas and Delga and its bishops, and every newly documented addition joins it. Here, in simple terms, is how we work and how to read what you find.

How does the archive document its materials?

The site's statements are tied to their origins on the References page: the report with its date and outlet, the photograph with its status, the recording with its source. What rests on historical material supplied to the archive, or on a family attestation, is expressly labeled as such, and whatever lacks complete evidence keeps its status label. We do not infer a date from a file name, and we do not raise an unreviewed item to the rank of evidence.

Sources and news

Title, outlet, date, link and status are preserved. A repost is not counted as an independent source without being marked as such.

Photos and videos

Submitted or not yet directly reviewed items remain in a review state. No unverified detail is inferred from a file name.

The internal archive

Family and church materials are classified as archival holdings and are not automatically treated as public press sources.

How to read each record's status

  • Published / official church source: material published by a press outlet or an official church channel, with its link and date.
  • Family archive - reviewed: an item from the family's holdings reviewed by the archive's keepers.
  • Supplied - pending visual review: an item that reached the archive and has not been examined yet; it stays labeled with this status until review is complete.
  • Family attestation: a correction or detail conveyed by the family; it is kept labeled as a family attestation and is not written into the body text as a verified fact.
  • Metadata only / link recorded: a preliminary record of an item whose documentation is incomplete; it is not used to establish facts.

One rule does not change

The source before the conclusion. What is not established by a source stays in its proper place: either labeled as awaiting evidence, and whatever a biography lacks is stated plainly as lacking.
